Jamie is posing as a visitor but his secret but when a Redcoat deserter from his past, Horrocks, arrives he finds himself being blackmailed. Having dealt with his blackmailer, Jamie has little choice but to join the Watch. Jenny meanwhile, goes into labor and with the village midwife away, Claire will have to deliver the baby in what becomes a difficult birth.
