This novel imagines what would have happened if the once flourishing and highly advanced Aztlǹ Nation did not succumb to the onslaught of Herman Cortez and the Spanish Empire. Take a wonderfully crazed excursion to New York City?a world turned upside down through alternative history, inept CIA agents, a Blackwater fanatic, Russian scientists, and multiple major hotel devastation. Our blundering hero is Tototl, a hopeless nerd trapped in a cool guy's body, who works for the Aztlǹ Space Agency and ventures to New York to attend the world's most conservative convention ever held. Tototl is a modern-day Aztlǹ priest of science who lives in the Mexica capital city of Tenochtitlan where he works as a space farming microbiologist. His government is searching for solutions to harvest crops in space in order to colonize Mars. Tototl's entire life is engrossed by this quest and he's certain he's close to discovering solutions. Once in New York, he becomes an unknowing pawn in scientific espionage, entangled in gross misadventures. To his dismay, he suffers the social disadvantages of one who comes from a misunderstood and isolated culture in a nearly utopian society.
